- Sumo Restaurant
Enjoy an evening in Ryogoku - The home town of sumo wrestling. What could be better than feasting on a perfectly sumo-sized meal of Chanko Nabe (sumo stew or hot pot) with some complimentary Japanese dishes on a cold autumn day. In the middle of the restaurant is a sumo ring used by retired sumo wrestlers, musicians and performers who will entertain you during your meal.
- Sing your heart out at Karaoke
We're sure you've heard of karaoke, but have you experienced Japanese style karaoke? In a private booth for your group, two microphones and take it in turns to sing along to your favourite songs. If you are brave enough, why not whip out those Japanese songs you know to impress your new friends!
- Skytree, Asakusa & Ueno Tour
Tokyo Skytree being 634 meters high makes it the best spot for panoramic views of Tokyo. Just a short train ride away is Asakusa with its old town atmosphere. We'll visit the ancient temple Senso-ji and Nakamise street where street food and souvenirs are sold. A short walk away you'll find Kappabashi ("Kitchen Town"), which has all kinds of kitchenware, as well as the amazing plastic food samples for sale! To finish off the tour we'll head over to Ueno, where you'll find Ameyoko, a busy market street under the train line, finishing off in beautiful Ueno Park.
- Tsukiji and Tsukishima Tour
A trip to Tokyo would not be complete without a visit to Tsukiji's market - hosting fish auctions up until 2018. Although the auction area has now moved, the old style market with all the fun of trying new foods is still in Tsukiji. Starting the morning with eating hot tamagoyaki (layered omelet) together, we then take a tour around the Japanese food stalls. After the market, we'll head over to a man-made island called Tsukishima. It is well known for Monjayaki - a sticky version of the popular Okonomiyaki "cabbage pancake".
- Visit the Ghibli Museum
Are you familiar with Studio Ghibli? The animation studio behind favorites such as Totoro, the Cat Bus, etc. Even if you're not, you can still enjoy this amazing museum dedicated to showcasing the art and techniques of animation. The architecture of the buildings alone will bring out your inner child. On top of that you can enjoy themed sweets in their cafe, a theatre showing short films exclusive to the museum, and a nice souvenir shop for you hardcore fans who want to get memorabilia from your favourite films.
- Relax at a Tea Ceremony
Join us for an immersion into Japanese culture by learning the subtle and peaceful art of serving and drinking Japanese green tea (matcha). The ceremony is held in a traditional setting originating from the 1600s. The buildings have been tastefully restored and are now used for activities such as art and crafts, culinary and culture. It's even used as a film set occasionally. The taste of matcha tea might not be to everyone's taste but don't worry, the slightly bitter taste is paired perfectly with a traditional Japanese sweet (wagashi).
