It’s also easy to get caught out by simple ingredients used in every day cooking, such as yuksu, a type of stock or bouillon, which is typically made from meat or fish.

Yes, you can use your mobile phone in South Korea, be sure to turn data roaming off if you want to avoid hefty fees from your provider back home. Internet is not widely available in public spaces, so that’s why we include a SIM card (Gold Plan only), which includes data, voice and messaging. For those who do not select the Gold Plan, it’s possible to order the SIM card when completing the application for the chosen trip.
What are the best foods to try in South Korea, well there certainly more than we can list here, but here are a few to start you off with; 1. Bulgogi, which is thin marinated beef or pork grilled on a stove-top BBQ.
2. Samgyeopsal, which is grilled pork belly which you eat almost sandwiched in a salad leaves with a mixture of toppings such as picked vegetables, sauces and other ingredients.
