Japan Airlines has recently announced that, to help visitors explore lesser known destinations of Japan, they will give away 50,000 domestic flight tickets, including the Olympic games period!
This huge giveaway, open to international tourists, will allow travelers to discover new and exciting areas of Japan. Since travelers overwhelmingly visit Japan’s major cities in Kanto and Kansai area (where Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto are), this promotion will allow less-known and rural areas to get a share of the visitors. Haneda Airport in Tokyo and Kansai/Itami airports in Osaka will serve as the starting points for the free flights.
If you are looking for an adventure, here’s the best part about it: when applying, JAL will offer you four possible destinations, but you won’t know where you’re going until three days after applying. Destinations are still being finalized and will be announced in the coming weeks.
You can either apply alone or as a group of up to four people.
How to apply for free flights in Japan
In order to be eligible for this promotion, you will have to be visiting Japan between the 1st of June 2020 and the 31st of October 2020 and be available to fly on the domestic round-trips between the 1st of July and the 30th of September 2020. Another requirement is to be signed up to JAL’s loyalty programme and you can do it for free!
Applications will open towards the end of February and free tickets will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. If you win, you will be notified via email within three days, with information regarding which of the four locations you will be flying to. If you are planning to come to Japan this summer, this is a great chance for you to discover Japan in more depth.
It’s also a great opportunity for whoever will join our summer study trips, from the exciting Adventure Japan trip, to the full-cultural immersion of our Traditional Japan program, ending with the incredibly fun Summer Course! As flights are not included in our packages, if you win a ticket from Japan Airlines, you can pick your own flight schedule, so that you can enjoy both experiences to the fullest. Fingers crossed!
